| A famous Latin phrase, “Anima Sana In Corpore Sano,”
inspired the renaming of ASICS in 1977 from Onitsuka Co.,
Ltd., as Kihachiro Onitsuka had named the athletic footwear
company he created in 1949. This phrase translates to “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body,” the timeless ideal that
would inspire the ASICS philosophy of total health and
fitness towards a healthy and happy lifestyle.
Since it was introduced to the United States in 1977, ASICS
remains governed by the beliefs on which it was founded,
bringing with it a dedication to athletic performance and
technical advancements for which it is known the world over. |
