In 1950, when Hikosuke Tamasu founded Tamasu Co., Ltd.
in Yanai City, Japan, he was on his way to making Butterfly
the leading brand in table tennis worldwide. In 1967,
Butterfly introduced SRIVER, which would become the
world’s most widely used rubber sheets, winning over
30 world championships thus far.

With the founding of Tamasu Butterfly Europa GmbH in 1973
in Germany and the training and research center in Tokyo
in 1983, the brand further enjoyed global success. Butterfly
rubbers and blades are the choice of more than half the
participants at World and European Championships,
including the Olympic Games.
